Paideia is a tutor and mentor in classical Christian education, at paideia.fyi. This page says plainly what we keep about you, why, and who else touches it.
What we keep
- Your account: your name, your email, and your passphrase, which is stored only as a one-way scramble that nobody can read back.
- What you tell us at the start: your role, what and whom you teach, your school's name if you give it, and any goals you write down.
- Your lessons: the conversations with the mentor, your progress on each lesson, the mentor's short notes on what you have shown, and your review cards.
- Technical records: when you sign in, errors, and the size and cost of each reply, so we can keep Paideia working and affordable. Your address on the internet is kept with feedback and sign-up records to stop abuse.
- The waitlist: the name, email, role and state you enter, and which link brought you, so we can write to you when Paideia opens. Every email we send has a link to take you off the list.
- The mission demo: the mission statement, school name, name and email you enter, and the sample lesson written for you.
Why
To teach you, to remember where you are, to answer feedback, and to improve the lessons. We do not sell your information, show you advertising, or use your conversations to train anyone's AI.
Who else touches it
- Anthropic provides the AI model (Claude) that writes the mentor's replies. Your conversation is sent to it to produce each reply.
- Resend delivers our emails: invitations, passphrase resets and replies to your feedback.
- Cloudflare carries the traffic between your browser and our server.
If your school invited you
On a school's own track, the school's named leaders see a level for each lesson you begin, the mentor's one-line note on it, and how many sessions you have had and when. They never see your conversations. Paideia tells you this, and who the leaders are, before anything is shared, and shows you exactly what they see.
Age
Paideia is for people 13 and older. We do not knowingly keep information about anyone younger. If you believe a child under 13 has an account, tell us and we will delete it.
Your choices
You can ask us to show you what we hold about you, correct it, or delete your account and everything in it. Use Feedback at the top of any page in Paideia, or "Trouble signing in?" on the sign-in page if you cannot get in.
Changes
If this notice changes in a way that matters, we will say so in Paideia before the change takes effect.
